If there is one thing I’ve learned,
it is that God is faithful
to those who feel the smallest,
to the ones who try their hardest,
and especially to those that don’t feel flawless.
Great is Thy faithfulness
when freedom feels far
and worry leaves you restless.
Oh, how great Thy faithfulness has been
to the skeptical soldiers,
the proud persecutors,
and to the faithless followers.
Oh, how our lives are an example
of many of these.
Oh, but how His life is an example
of the love that frees.

“And I will lead the blind in a way they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light and the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.”
Isaiah 42:16
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do and who I want to be, and I’ve been getting so caught up in trying to be perfect and do everything perfectly that I forget His grace.
It’s so easy for me to forget that I don’t have to get better at this or that to receive His love or His best for me, and I do it all the time.
BUT, the gospel is not for when we become “perfect.”
It is for the imperfect, the broken, the sinners of the sinners- the ones the world would look down upon- to meet the perfectness of God’s love.
It is for those days when we were far from holy.
It is for those days when we need a spark of light and when we just can’t walk anymore.
It is for yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
And it is for me and you.
